    In the automotive industry, the transformation of the product and the production process, modifies the international competition between the automobile-manufacturing countries. After a description of the evolution of this competition during the last twenty years, this article tries to define the main parameters of the future automotive cornpetitiveness. In this prospective point of view, the consequences of the internationalisation of the automotive industry have been also analysed.

    Dans l'industrie automobile, la profonde transformation du produit et du processus de production, observée depuis quelques années, modifie durablement les conditions de la concurrence à l'échelle mondiale. Son enjeu est la définition d'une nouvelle norme internationale de production et de consommation. Après avoir dégagé les grandes tendances de la concurrence automobile au cours des vingt dernières années, cet article cherche à mieux cerner les principaux paramètres de cette nouvelle norme aujourd'hui en gestation. Est enfin évalué l'impact du mouvement d'internationalisation sur la définition de cette nouvelle norme.
