The need for hotel accommodation to have a public profile in the main general social networks is obvious nowadays. From the appearance of these social networks, the establishments have been being aware of that need, and this is the reason why have they been incorporated to them. In the case of tourism, due to the high degree of interconnection between the stakeholders, as well as due to the high competitiveness, which requires institutions to adapt quickly to changes, such incorporation is even greater. But does it really such incorporation takes effect on the profitability of the business? The present study aims to answer this question by relating through econometric models the presence in social networks with the rate of occupancy of different tourist accommodation establishments in Extremadura.
