El cine sigue siendo hoy en día un campo de hombres, más que de mujeres, tal y como respaldan estudios de la New York Film Academy, la Media, Diversity and Social Change Initiative o el Bechdel Test Movie List. Sin embargo, las cifras avanzan poco a poco y entre las mujeres que las hacen mejorar se encuentra Céline Sciamma, una joven cineasta francesa que ha dirigido una trilogía (Naissance de Pieuvres, Tomboy y Bande de Filles) centrada en la figura de la mujer, en especial de la niña y la adolescente, y en cómo el proceso de la pubertad influye en sus emociones y el descubrimiento de su identidad y de su sexualidad. A lo largo de las siguientes páginas se analizará qué aporta Sciamma al séptimo arte con sus largometrajes y de qué manera transforma a la mujer en un sujeto activo, no pasivo, cambiando así las estructuras narrativas establecidas hasta el momento en el cine preponderante.

However, statistics are slowly showing optimistic results, and Celine Sciamma is one of the women who are making them improve. She is a young French director, whom trilogy (Naissance de Pieuvres, Tomboy y Bande de Filles) is focused in women, specially little girls and teenagers, and how the puberty process affects their feelings and the discovery of their identity and sexuality. These pages will analyze how Sciamma is contributing to the seventh art with her films and how she transforms woman into an active subject, not a passive one, changing this way the established narrative structures in the prevailing cinema.
