  Based on the work of some contemporary Portuguese poets, this study fo­cuses on the relationship between criticism and poetry at the beginning of our twenty-first century, these relations being as narrow as ambiguous. Since the meta-poetic dimension is a core component of contemporary poetry, reflection on poetry is not unique to criticism, understood as an autonomous and separate space from litterary creation. On the contrary, if the consciousness of writing is inseparable from the history of poetry, as argued, it is perhaps the creation of this critical space one of the features of our modernity. Between these two fields, the theoretical or argumentative discourse and the poetic one, the borders are porous today, as it is also argued.

  Partindo da leitura de alguns poetas portugueses contemporâneos, este estudo debruça-se sobre as relações entre crítica e poesia neste início do século XXI, relações essas tão estreitas como ambíguas. Sendo a dimensão metapoética uma componente central da poesia contemporânea, a reflexão sobre a poesia não é tarefa exclusiva da crítica, entendida como espaço autónomo e distinto da criação. Pelo contrário: se a consciência da escrita acompanha a poesia desde os seus inícios, como se argumenta, será tal­vez o surgimento do espaço autónomo da crítica uma das características da nossa modernidade. Neste sentido, o artigo pretende também mostrar como entre os dois campos, o discurso teórico ou argumentativo e o dis­curso poético, as fronteiras são hoje porosas.
