Skype is one of the most used programs to entertain VoIP conversations. The particular technology on which it bases its operation makes these conversations can be difficult intercepted using the traditional techniques of telecommunication interception of communications. This has prompted the judicial authority to use instruments of dubious legality, but that, however, do not provide fully satisfactory results.

Skype rappresenta oggi uno dei programmi maggiormente utilizzati per intrattenere conversazioni VoIP. La particolare tecnologia su cui si fonda il suo funzionamento rende queste conversazioni difficilmente intercettabili usando le tecniche tradizionali di intercettazione di comunicazioni telematiche o informatiche. Ciò ha spinto l’autorità giudiziaria ad avvalersi di strumenti di dubbia legittimità, che tuttavia non offrono risultati investigativi pienamente soddisfacenti.
