To date Orue has remained practically forgotten as a subject of research. However, an initial approach to the documentary sources, including the trial files of the women prisoners, reveals a striking reality: over a thousand women living with their children, held in the prison in the Bilbao district of Begoña from 1937 until the 1940s.
Oraintsu arte Orue ahazturik egon da, ez baitzen ikertua izan. Bada, hartan atxiloturik izan ziren emakumeei dagozkien auzibideak behin behinekoz aztertzen hasita agertu zaiguna ezustekoa harrigarria izan da; hain zuzen ere, 1937an hasita eta 1940etan ondo sarturik izan arte Begoñako leku hartan milatik gora emakume bizi izan ziren, bertan preso, semealaba eta guzti.
