El 'yo' de Juan Ruiz: autobiografía y estructura narrativa en el "Libro de buen amor"

    This article examines the structural role of the first-person narrative voice in the Libro de buen amor independent of the text's possible didactic implications. The literary composition of the Libro de buen amor highlights three distinct functions of Juan Ruiz's "yo" in the text: those of author, narrator, and protagonist. The interactions between these three functions create the text's overall narrative structure by ordering and framing the episodes detailing the Archpriest's amorous encounters. As a result, Juan Ruiz's use of autobiographical discourse suggests that the artistic merit of the Libro de buen amor depends on its first-person narrative structure

    Este artículo analiza el papel estructural de la voz narrativa en primera persona en el Libro de buen amor independiente de las posibles implicaciones didácticas de esta obra. La composición literaria del Libro de buen amor hace hincapié en las distintas funciones que el "yo" de Juan Ruiz desempeña en el texto: la función del autor, la del narrador y la del protagonista. Las interacciones entre estas tres funciones crean la estructura narrativa del texto al ordenar y enmarcar los episodios donde el Arcipreste presenta sus encuentros amorosos. Como consecuencia, el discurso autobiográfico de Juan Ruiz sugiere que el valor artístico del Libro de buen amor reside en su estructura narrativa
