Resumen de Intencionalidad, objeto y sentido en la Gegenstandstheorie de Alexius Meinong

  La ‘teoría del objeto’ de Meinong es una radicalización de la teoría intencionalista de Brentano que amplía el universo de los objetos, en tanto todo acto tiene un objeto trascendente como correlato. El análisis se centra, por un lado, en el objeto, correlato de las representaciones, que puede ser existente, subsistente o inexistente (e incluso imposible); y, por otro lado, en los ‘objetivos’, correlatos de los juicios y las suposiciones; es aquí, en la esfera de lo proposicional, donde el problema de los objetos inexistentes encuentra solución. La idea central del artículo es mostrar cómo una auténtica teoría intencionalista lleva necesariamente a plantear una teoría del objeto que da cuenta de todo tipo de objeto y que, a partir de sus mismos principios, abre la posibilidad a una perspectiva semántica del sentido.

  Meinong’s ‘theory of objects’ is a radicalization of Brentano’s intentionalist theory which widens the universe of objects, since every act has a transcendent object as a correlate. The article focuses on two main issues: on the one hand, the object–as correlate of representations –that might be existent, subsistent or nonexistent (and even impossible); on the other hand, the ‘objective’–as correlate of judgments and assumptions–; I will argue that the problem of nonexistent objects finds its solution here, i.e. within the sphere of propositional acts. The aim will be to show how an authentic intentionalist theory leads necessarily to a theory of objects that gives an account of every kind of object.
