    Sólo el 3% del total del agua del planeta es dulce, este hecho, junto a que conforme aumenta la población también lo hace la demanda de agua, resalta el carácter del agua como bien económico, al ser escaso y existir competencia entre diferentes usos. Ante esta situación, y en tiempos de crisis, se plantean algunas de las principales técnicas que pueden implementarse en edificios con el fin de lograr un ahorro de este bien económico.
