El interés de la profilaxis de la hepatitis por virus B, no conduce a realizar una revisión sobre el estado actual de la misma. Por ello, es importante el conocimiento de la historia natural dela hepatitis por virus B, la descripción de los grupos de riesgo sobre los que debe incidir especialmente la profilaxis, así como los tipos de vacunas existentes en la actualidad, sus ventajas e inconvenientes, su dosificación, forma de administración y su reactogenicidad e inmunogenidad.

The interest of the prophylaxis of hepatitis by B virus, induced us to realize a revision about its actual state. Therefore, it is important to know the natural history of hepatitis by B virus, the description of the groups of risk upon which the prophylaxis must especially be focused, as well as the different types of vaccines existing at present, their advantages and disadvantages, their doses, the way how they should be used, and their reactogenicity and inmunogenicity.
