Resumen de Mortalidade Materna, Movimento de Mulheres Negras e Direitos Humanos no Brasil: um Olhar na Interseccionalidade de Gênero e Raça

I will carry out the following reflections on the basis of a case of the death of a black mother in the State of Rio de Janeiro, in 2002; this mother died due to inappropriate care by the health center, and her case was internationally judged as a violation to human rights. I intend to analyze the effects of this case on the Brazilian public sphere as I spot maternal mortality in the intersectionality of the agendas of the civil rights movements, public policies and human rights, taking into account the disputes over the notions of body, health and rights. Therefore, an intersectionality perspective as an embodied experience of race and gender, combined to an approach based on biopolitics which, in turn, reveals the tensions existing between the politics of life and the politics of the living in the construction of sanitary objects will be of help in understanding the whole process and its complexities.

A partir de um caso de morte materna de uma mulher negra ocorrido em 2002 no estado do Rio de Janeiro, por falta de atençãoadequada na rede de saúde, julgado internacionalmente comouma violação aos direitos humanos dessa mulher, realizarei uma série de reflexões. Proponho analisar os efeitos desse caso naesfera pública brasileira ao colocar a mortalidade materna noentrecruzamento de pauta de movimentos sociais, de políticaspúblicas e de discussões sobre direitos humanos, considerandoas noções em disputa de corpo, saúde e direitos. Nesse sentido, oolhar da interseccionalidade como experiência corporificada degênero e raça, articulado com um enfoque biopolítico que destaca as tensões entre as “políticas da vida” e as “políticasdovivente” na construção dos objetos sanitários, nos ajuda a entendereste processo de maneira complexa.
