    Se describen con el fin de mejorar la calidad de las prótesis completas, los problemas más frecuentes, cuya causa está en que los dientes artificiales no ocupan el espacio neutro (E.N.), sea por tamaño inadecuado o por su situación incorrecta. Existen casos en que corregir este parámetro es indispensable para el buen funcionamiento de la prótesis.

    Se observa con frecuencia que se usan dientes cuyo tamaño es superior al E.N., especialmente en sentido vestíbulo-lingual.

    De entre los problemas derivados de la posición de los dientes, las principales causas se refieren a usar la cresta como referencia, pretender solucionar con la posición de los dientes cuestiones no propias de los mismos, relaciones intermaxilares anómalas o incorrección de la dimensión vertical.

    In complete dentures one of the most frequent problem is due to the fact that artificial teeth do not occupy the neutral space, either because of inadequate size or because incorrect placing.

    There are cases in which the determination of this parameter is essential for the correct funcionalism of the prosthesis.

    It is frequently observed the use of teeth larger than the neutral space, specially in the vestibule-lingual aspect.

    Those problems related to teeth position can be observed in cases where the residual crest is used as a reference, when trying to solve with the position of the teeth matters that have nothing to do with them, when there are abnormal intermaxillary relations or finally when there is an inadequate Vertical Dimension.
