    Los pacientes no son sólo cuerpos cuyas funciones se ven truncadas a nivel biológico, sino que son también personas con una biografía. Por su experiencia vital y también por encontrarse cerca de su propia muerte pueden ser los mejores maestros para aprender a afrontar el sufrimiento, la vulnerabilidad o la fragilidad. Esto es posible a través de la palabra, de manera que su dignidad se mantiene intacta a pesar de los cambios en su cuerpo o en su mente. De esta manera la esperanza se mantiene incluso en estos momentos, esperanza de mejora o de muerte en paz.

    Patients are not only bodies whose functions are broken on a biological level, but they are also persons with a biography. Because of their vital experience and furthermore with them being confronted with their own death, they can be the best teachers in order to learn how to handle the suffering, the vulnerability or the fragility. This is possible by means of the word, so that his dignity is kept intact in spite of the changes in their bodies or in their minds. In this way the hope is kept enclosed in these moments, hope of improvement or of death in peace.
