    El artículo analiza la relación de los personajes de las hijas del Cid y los infantes de Carrión con sus equivalentes históricos, demostrando que dicho vínculo es casi inexistente. El trabajo se centra en el episodio de la afrenta de Corpes y, brevemente, explica por qué la práctica invención de los personajes tiene una gran relevancia narrativa en el Poema de Mío Cid.

    This article analyzes the relationship between the characters of the daughters of the Cid and the Infants of Carrión and their historical counterparts, demonstrating that such a link is almost nonexistent. The work focuses on the story of the shame of Corpes and briefly explains why the almost complete invention of the characters has a great narrative relevance in the Poema de Mío Cid.
