    En este trabajo se desarrolla una reflexión sobre la laicidad como imaginario social, a partir de una reflexión hermenéutica que la vincula al Estado francés del siglo XIX; Con este fin, se hace una revisión hermenéutica desde las implicaciones histórica, filosófica, jurídica y política del sentido originario de los términos laico y secular, para aproximar una comprensión de su posicionamiento como un imaginario de oposición a lo religioso, sentido que se privilegió durante el siglo XIX, y que continúa vigente.

    In this work I develop a reflection about the laicity as a social imaginary, draw from a hermeneutic reflection in order to highlight the relationship between laicity and the French State of nineteenth century; in this regard, I´ll make a hermeneutical review from the implications historical, philosophical, legal and political of the original sense of terms lay and secular, to approach an understanding of the positioning of that words as a social imaginary in opposition to religious sense that it privileged during the nineteen century, and it current continues.
