    The excavation and diagnosis campaign carried out in 1991/92 on the Lautagne plateau in Valence — Drôme — allowed to make the assumption that there were military forces dating back to the lrst century B.C. on the site. Therefore three states of successive occupations — each in relation with a ditch improvement — have been identified. Their discovery is an essential data, on the one hand to understand the origins of Valence and on the other hand which might explain the introduction of its system surveyed and registered in the cadastre.

    La campagne de fouille/diagnostic menée en 1991-92 sur le plateau de Lautagne à Valence (Drôme) a permis d'émettre l'hypothèse d'une implantation militaire sur le site datant du Ier s. av. J.-C. Trois états d'occupations successives, chacun d'eux en relation avec un aménagement de fossés, ont ainsi été reconnus. Leur découverte constitue un élément essentiel pour la compréhension des origines de la ville de Valence et susceptible d'expliquer l'implantation de son système cadastré.
