Dr Ogden and colleagues1 concluded that there have been no significant changes in the prevalence of obesity over the past decade. The authors also reported that the prevalence of obesity in children ages 2 through 5 years declined significantly. However, the data on the prevalence of obesity in this age group were unstable (13.9% in 2003-2004, 10.7% in 2005-2006, 10.1% in 2007-2008, 12.1% in 2009-2010, and 8.4% in 2011-2012, from Table 6 in the article).
