    El trabajo "Argelia: el difícil equilibrio" se centra, a partir de la reelección del presidente Bouteflika en el 2009, en analizar el sistema político argelino, y en particular el rol tradicional que ha jugado el ejército como árbitro de la vida política nacional, desde el proceso revolucionario, el difícil equilibrio que ha logrado el actual Jefe de Estado tanto frente al radicalismo islamista como a los grupos de poder del país.Además, busca entender el papel que juega el país norafricano dentro de la Cuenca del Mediterráneo y sobre todo en relación con la Unión Europea y los países vecinos. Particular importancia tiene la relación con Marruecos, que ha determinado gran parte de la política exterior argelina y de su estrategia regional.

    The work "Algeria: the tough equilibrium" focuses, taking the reelection of president Bouteflika in 2009 asstarting point, on analyzing the Algerian political system and, particularly, the traditional role the army hasplayed as referee ofthe national politicallife since the revolutionary process, as well as the tough equilibriumthat the current Chief of State has achieved while facing both the Islamic radicalism and the power groupsof the country. Also, the work seeks to understand the role that the North African country plays as part ofthe Mediterranean Basin and especially in relation with the European Union and the neighboring countries.The relationship with Morocco bears a particular importance, one that has determined a significant part ofthe Algerian exterior policy and its regional strategy.
