La colección de joyas antiguas que atesora el Instituto Valencia de Don Juan de Madrid es una de las más destacadas dentro de la sección de Artes Decorativas que forma parte del patrimonio de esta institución. Sin embargo, todavía permanece inédita en su mayor parte, aunque la catalogación razonada que se está llevando a cabo y su posterior publicación permitirá dar a conocer en un futuro próximo no sólo el pormenor de cada objeto, sino también describir la panorámica histórico-artística y cultural que compone la totalidad del conjunto. Se presenta aquí como muestra una selección de objetos relevantes de los siglos XVI y XVII.

Antique jewelry collection that holds the Valencia de Don Juan Institute in Madrid is one of the most prominent in the decorative arts section which is part of the heritage of this institution. However, still it remains unpublished for the most part, although the reasoned cataloging is carried out and its subsequent publication will allow to highlight in the near future not only the detail of each object, but also describe the panoramic art-historical and cultural which made up the totality of the whole. It is presented here as it shows a selection of relevant objects from the 16th and 17th centuries.
