En este trabajo se estudian pilas de mármol que arribaron a Canarias durante las décadas centrales del siglo XVIII y pueden vincularse en diversa forma con artistas gaditanos de ese periodo, en especial con el labrante Salvador Alcaraz y Valdés. La lectura ofrecida incide en su relación con las medidas mercantiles del momento y en la participación de los comitentes o intermediarios como sujetos principales del comercio artístico, todo ello sin descuidar otros asuntos de naturaleza contextual.
This paper analyzes fonts arrived in the Canary Islands during the middle decades of the eighteenth century can be linked in various ways with the workers open in Cadiz along this time, especially with the artist Salvador Alcaraz y Valdes.
