  • Resumen
    • The article presents tips for managers on using charts or graphs to mislead data. It is advised that one use maps to represent data that is not related to geography. It is noted that managers present global financial results by coloring in whole countries to represent performance of a few cities. A manager who needs to show a trend could limit the range of values on the y-axis to match the range of values in the data. A manager who is trying to hide a downward trend could also chart growth cumulatively over time rather than present totals for each time period.
