Resumen de Situatia tinerelor din Romania practicante ale sexului comercial

Marian Preda, Doru Buzducea, Florin Lazăr, Vlad Grigoraş

  • The transition from communism to democracy experienced by East-European countries in the last 19 years generated negative social phenomena such as poverty, unemployment, migration but also less visible and hard to control social problems like commercial sex work. A research focused on the risk of HIV infection among young female sex workers (FSW) is rather new for Romania and even in the region. This type of researches are rare due to the high difficulties in sampling and data gathering about this hard-to-reach population. Commercial sex work is a social problem whose effects are not visible and hard to measure as well as multidimensional: spread of HIV and other STIs, economic and financial crime, deviance, abuses and violence, association with drug addiction.
