    Das Katholische Zentrum der französischen Intellektuellen. Das Katholische Zentrum der französischen Intellektuellen bildete eine Stätte des Dialogs (symbolisches Verhandeln) innerhalb des religiösen Feldes, sowie zwischen diesem und dem intellektuellen Feld. Es war institutionell nicht verankert, beschränkt auf einige wenige, den Dialog zwischen den Intellektuellen organisierende Mitglieder und -da ohne kirchlichen Auftrag - von der vorgesetzten kirchlichen Dienststelle juristisch unabhängig. Die Untersuchung der Funktionsweise der Institution wie auch des Konstitutionsprozesses des öffentlichen Dialog-Diskurses macht sichtbar, in welchem Grad sich das Zentrum faktisch auf ein Netz intellektueller Beziehungen stützen konnte und deckt die informellen Kontrollmechanismen des produzierten Diskurses auf : Selbstkontrolle der Initiatoren des Dialogs und indirekte Kontrolle durch die Hierarchie, der öffentlichen Debatte vorausliegende Kontrolle des privaten Gedankenaustauschs.

    The Centre catholique des intellectuels francais. The «Centre for French Catholic Intellectuals» was a forum for dialogue (symbolic bargaining) within the religious field and between the religious field and the political field. It lacked institutional structures and amounted to a few members who organized debates between intellectuals. Having no ecclesiastical mandate, it was legally independent of the authority of the hierarchy. By studying the functioning of this institution and the process whereby the public discourse of dialogue was constituted, we are able to see how it was in fact based on the collaboration of a whole network of intellectual connections, and we discover the informal mechanisms controlling the discourse that was produced : self-regulation by the promoters of dialogue and indirect regulation by the hierarchy, with regulation of the private negotiation preceding the public debate.

    Le Centre catholique des intellectuels français. Le Centre catholique des intellectuels français était un lieu de dialogue (négociation symbolique) dans le champ religieux et entre celui-ci et le champ intellectuel. Institutionnellement démuni, il était réduit à quelques membres qui organisaient des débats entre intellectuels et, n'ayant pas de mandat ecclésial, il était juridiquement indépendant de l'autorité hiérarchique. L'étude du fonctionnement de l'institution et du processus de constitution du discours public de dialogue nous permet de voir comment en fait il s'appuyait sur la collaboration de tout un réseau de relations intellectuelles et de découvrir les mécanismes informels de contrôle du discours produit : auto-contrôle des promoteurs du dialogue et contrôle indirect de la hiérarchie, contrôle de la négociation privée précédant le débat public.
