    Under the theme of this Congress, crisis and rupture peninsular, we will try, with our communication, to recover the historical context of the period in which the Philippine dual monarchy contributed to the tightness of the connections not only political, but also social, cultural and artistic.

    We intend, therefore, to specifically address the situation of literature at the end of the 16th century, specifically the relationship between the Portuguese editions of the Os Lusíadas, written by the poet Luís Vaz de Camões, and the translations of this epic by the two most prestigious Spanish universities of the time, anchoring these facts at the social, political and cultural lived in the period when Philip II of Spain also became Philip I of Portugal.

    Sendo a temática deste III Congresso SEEPLU a crise e a rutura peninsular, procuraremos, com a nossa comunicação, recuperar o contexto histórico do período filipino em que a monarquia dual contribuiu para a estreiteza das ligações não só políticas, mas também sociais, culturais e artísticas. Pretendemos, assim, abordar especificamente a conjuntura literária de finais do séc. XVI, mais concretamente as relações entre as edições portuguesas da obra Os Lusíadas, do poeta Luís Vaz de Camões, e as traduções desta epopeia, lançadas pelas duas mais prestigiadas Universidades espanholas da época, ancorando estes factos no contexto social, político e cultural vivido na época em que Filipe II de Espanha se tornou também Filipe I de Portugal.
