This research aims to improve knowledge about the history of translation in Portugal, focusing specifically on the vernacular translation of Latin texts carried out by women at the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance period. To this end, we will examine the information available on three woman translators whose work has ome down to our —Philippa of Lancaster, Infanta D. Catarina and Leonor de Noronha—, providing a brief survey of the works they have either authored or translated.
