¿Quién eres? Carreras políticas de los legisladores encargados del control en Argentina (2001-2013)

    ¿Hay control parlamentario en Argentina? Este trabajo busca explorar qué condiciones incentivan la activación del control del poder ejecutivo y las diversas burocracias estatales. Para ello, se focaliza en la carrera política de 331 legisladores que formaron parte de 15 comisiones de control entre 2001 y 2013, analizando los patrones de reclutamiento, la trayectoria política y su ambición. Encontramos que la especificidad de sus carreras políticas desincentivan el control, ya que poseen bajo expertise y poca autonomía respecto de su controlado

    Is there Legislative oversight in Argentina? This paper aims to explore the general conditions that might activate the legislative oversight of the Executive Branch and its bureaucracies. Therefore, the political career of 331 Legislators, who were part of 15 oversight committees between 2001 y 2013, was studied. The recruitment patters, the political path and their ambition were analyzed; and it was found that some particularities of their political career might work as a disincentive to the control task, due to their low expertise as politicians and their little autonomy
