    El autor comienza el artículo exponiendo los diferentes tipos de testamentos en el Código Civil español. Los testamentos en España pueden ser comunes o especiales. Los testamentos comunes pueden ser: ológrafo, abierto o cerrado; los testamentos especiales pueden ser el militar, el marítimo y el hecho en un país extranjero. La identificación del testador es un dato clave para garantizar la autenticidad del testamento. Por lo general, es el notario que autoriza el testamento quien identifica el testador. El problema se plantea en los testamentos que no se otorgan ante notario y donde el propio testador escribe su última voluntad, sobre todo el testamento ológrafo, todo él escrito y firmado por el testador mismo. Aquí es donde el trabajo y el informe del perito calígrafo es esencial para la seguridad en la identificación del testador.

    The author begins the article exposing the different types of wills in the Spanish Civil Code. Wills in Spain can be common or special. The common wills may be: holographic, open will or closed will; special wills can be the military will, the maritime will and the will made in a foreign country. The identification of the testator is a key input to ensure the authenticity of the will. Usually it is the Public notary who authorized the testament which identifies the testator. The problem is posed wills that are not granted before a notary and where the testator himself writes his last will, especially the holographic will, written out in full and signed by the testator. This is where the work and report of the forensic expert calligrapher is essential for security in the identification of the testator.
