"We highlight the conclusion of the Brumado expansion project, which increased our high-grade magnesite sinter production capacity from 180,000 to 240,000 tpa, making us self-sufficient," CEO Octavio Pereira Lopes said.
Revenue increased 4.4%, to [Euro] 1.83bn ($2.37bn) in 2012. This, RHI said, was "primarily attributable to shifts in product mix, the positive effects of a weaker euro-dollar exchange rate as well as pricing effects".
"With the regional shift in customer demand the need for capacity concentration in Europe for RHI comes along. That is why RHI is currently evaluating its production footprint for the future," a spokesperson for RHI told IM.
