Este artículo se ocupa de plantear una aproximación a la relación entre el personajeAntígona de Sófocles y la noción de otredad propuesta por EmmanuelLévinas. La tesis que se sostiene es la siguiente: es la otredad una de las experienciasque llevan a Antígona a decidir el camino de la muerte propia motivadapor la condena de su hermano muerto. Los tópicos del escrito se dividen en dos:la proximidad de Antígona con su hermano y la otredad en la decisión frente a lacondena de su hermano muerto. Se concluye este texto afirmando que Lévinasy Sófocles pueden dialogar en un sentido ético, el de la libertad, el de la elecciónpor el otro y las consecuencias que esto tiene; resaltan cada uno la importanciadel valor que tiene una insubordinación cuando la injusticia y la imposición son elarma del tirano.

This article deals with pose an approach to the relationship between thecharacter of Antigone of Sophocles and the notion of otherness by EmmanuelLevinas. The thesis which I contend is as follows: the otherness is one of theexperiences that lead to Antigone to decide the way of own death motivated bythe conviction of his dead brother. The topics of the writing are divided in two: Theproximity of Antigone with his brother and The otherness in the decision againstthe condemnation of his dead brother. I conclude this text stating that Levinasand Sophocles can dialogue in an ethical sense, of freedom, of the election on theother and the consequences of this; each highlights the importance of the valuethat has an insubordination when the injustice and imposition are the weapon ofthe tyrant
