    Según el autor de esta contribución, el debate actual sobre el tema de la “secesión” tiene una larga historia. Aunque los argumentos se repiten, y en el debate se reincide sobre preguntas similares, en comparación con los movimientos secesionistas del siglo XX, los movimientos actuales tienen características específicas. Lo más llamativo es la ausencia de violencia. Basándose en estas premisas, en este texto el autor intenta realizar un primer acercamiento teórico sobre el fenómeno de la secesión.

    According to the author of this contribution, the current debate related to the “secession movements” in Europe has a long history. Although the arguments are similar, and the questions have the same focus, there are specific characteristics of the current movements compared with the secessionist movements of the twentieth century. The most striking aspect is the absence of violence. Based on these arguments, in this paper, the author tries to develop a first theoretical approach for the phenomenon of secession.
