  Como algo distinto del deber de asistencia mutua entre padres e hijos, el deber unilateral de los padres de criar y educar a sus hijos es propio de la minoría de edad de éstos, pero, excepcionalmente, puede continuar si los hijos mayores de edad no han completado su formación. El deber de crianza y educación de los hijos afecta igualmente a los padres separados, que deben contribuir a los gastos ordinarios y extraordinarios necesarios en proporción a sus recursos económicos, teniendo uno al hijo consigo y el otro pagando una pensión (custodia individual), o teniendo al hijo los dos por turnos y asumiendo cada uno su parte de gastos (custodia compartida).

  As something other than the duty of mutual assistance between parents and children, the one-sided duty of parents to raise and educate their children is typical of the stage of being under age, but, exceptionally, it can continue if the overage children have not completed their training. The duty of raising and educating children affects separated parents equally, who must contribute to the required ordinary and extraordinary necessary expenses in proportion to their economic resources, either one having the child and the other paying a pension (individual custody), or having the child both in turns and each assuming their share of expenses (shared custody).
