It is presented a comparative analysis of the hydraulic transmissions and also of the electric type transmissions in direct current produced by means of dynamos or alternators followed by rectifiers and used in the diesel locomotives this analysis focuses basically on the efficiency of the transmission, obtaining that there is an energetic spare (evaluable in annualities) with the electric diesel transmissions. The analysis continues comparing the efforts produced in both types of transmissions, arriving to the conclusion that at this respect the electric ones are the most efficient and distinguishing among the diverse operating systems mainly in the relative to the start velocities range. The hydraulic ones have a inferior basic price but for the countries without fabrication facilities depend in a high percentage of imported technology, what means a global rise in costs including those relative to the maintenance.
Finally, it presents a realisations table of the types DH and DE all around the world, according to the power ranges.
