  • This article presents in detail the location and function of each of the electric equipment components of a thermic rail car not only for the transmissions but on a general basis. After this analysis it is exposed the way to achieve the power circuit regulation subsequent to the driver’s order and performing all a battery of testings by electronics means arranged in plugged cards. The modern rail cars include equipments for realization of tests and to establish diagnostics on the working conditions of the different elements, both in power and in relation to the regulation. Finally, modern examples of these rail cars in service in several countries are presented.
