The first, indirect, mention of the Lizundia boundary stone dates from the 15th century. A sondage was carried out in its vicinity and, thanks to this intervention, the customs described by various researchers during the 20th century (for example, the insertion of pieces of tile and charcoal under the stone) were confirmed, similarly to that which occurred during the previous season in relation to the Lanbarren boundary stone. Based on the dating of pieces of carbonised wood, it is believed that the boundary stone dates from between the 17th and 18th centuries
