  • An iron-cored long stator synchronous motor is used for the propulsion of the Transrapid 06 of the TVE. The article describes the principle of the long stator drive, the design of the motor and the power supply system the circuit connections of the route, the open and closed loop control systems of the propulsion system, the dynamic data of the propulsion system the mechanical design of the long-stator motor and the technology and manufacturing procedures of the long-stator components. A summary is given of the progress so far achieved.
