Resumen de Palimpsestos refratários ao tempo: transmissão e interdição dos clássicos latinos

  This article intends to point out aspects of the bibliographic censorship in the transmission of Latin literature, minimally understood as a set of mechanic and intellectual proceedings in the edition of books aiming at reading orientation and social control. As a corpus for our deliberations, we have selected the "Guidelines for Teachers of Latin, Greek and Hebrew Grammar and Rhetoric" (1759) and the satire IX from Juvenal, one of his most censored poems within the literary tradition. Regarding the notion of social control, we based our study on the thoughts of Émile Durkheim and Michel Foucault, by using newer approaches over the subject, suggested by Marcos César Álvarez in his article "Controle social: notas em torno de uma noção polêmica" (Álvarez, 2004: 168-176).

  Este artigo pretende apontar, na transmissão da literatura latina, aspectos da censura bibliográfica, entendida minimamente como conjunto de procedimentos mecânicos e intelectuais na edição de livros, para orientação da leitura e controle social. Como corpus de nossas considerações, selecionamos as "Instruções para os professores de gramática latina, grega, hebraica e de retórica" (1759) e a sátira ix de Juvenal, por ser um de seus poemas mais censurados na tradição textual. Com relação à noção de controle social, baseamo-nos no pensamento de Émile Durkheim e de Michel Foucault, utilizando ainda abordagens mais recentes sobre o tema, sugeridas por Marcos César Álvarez em seu artigo "Controle social: notas em torno de uma noção polêmica" (Álvarez, 2004: 168-176).
