    El concepto de Desarrollo Sostenible ha supuesto desde su establecimiento una evolución y adaptación de los vehículos a los objetivos globales de emisión (gases contaminantes y efecto invernadero: CO2), y es importante entender como se articula y aplica a la Unión Europea (UE), donde conlleva una serie de cumplimientos y obligaciones en el sector del transporte. A través de un exhaustivo análisis en este trabajo se han analizado las configuraciones de los vehículos que buscan mejorar la eficiencia energética, en base a consumir menos combustibles fósiles y a reducir las emisiones de gases contaminantes y de efecto invernadero. De forma que con ello se ha llegado a establecer las tipologías básicas de vehículos mediante un método de caracterización que aporta como novedad este estudio, y que permite finalmente evaluar respecto de las emisiones la Huella de Carbono.

    The concept of Sustainable Development has supposed from its establishment an evolution and adjustment of the vehicles to the global aims of emission (Pollutant Gases and Greenhouse Gas: CO2), and it is important to deal since it is articulated and applied to the European Union (EU), where he carries a series of fulfillments and obligations in the sector of the transport. Across an exhaustive analysis in this work there have been analyzed the configurations of the vehicles that seek to improve the energy efficiency, on the basis of consuming fewer fossil fuels and to reducing the emission of Pollutant Gases and Greenhouse Gases. So that with it it has managed to establish the basic typologies of vehicles by means of a method of characterization that contributes as innovation this study
