  • Resumen
    • The concept of life quality has an assessment, that social sciences, starting from an inventory concerning social worries, try to determine starting from a thoroughly identification of problems and their corresponding passage to indicators as measuring instruments. In order to obtain satisfaction degree of social demand concerning life quality and its indicators, it can be established the relationship between transport, from the point of view of supply, and mobility with life quality.

Transport activity gives rise to a series of harmful effects which influence quality life of people using transport systems and of the rest of citizens. The ambivalent concept of mobility, whose increase contributes to these external effects, obliges to stop considering it as a goal.

It is public authority that must guarantee a determined level of life quality and, consequently, they must support task concerning maintenance of an acceptable accessibility level. Their duties are not only limited to a simple regulation or to a subsidy to an inefficient transport industry, but they must also consider urban transport as a public service, an obligation imposed by the conception of the city we have reached. On the other hand, public authority cannot do with transport planning because of interrelation between transport and urban policy.
