  • The article discusses the reasons for the decline of the European ideals and culture and states that its cultural pessimism is part of the real world challenges such as mass immigration, economic stagnation, and the rise of far-left and far-right political parties. It mentions books by European intellectuals who lament the decline of European ideology including "The Idea of Europe" by George Steiner, "Submission" by Michel Houellebecq, and “Deutschland schafft sich ab" by Thilo Sarrazin. It also states that cosmopolitanism should be made the strength of European culture.
