  • The article discusses the relevance of poetry and poets in modern culture especially in the U.S. where its been accused that poetry writing and the works of many poets have disassociated themselves from history or politics. Topics include the works of several poets like the book "Citizen: An American Lyric" from Claudia Rankine on the experiences of black Americans, the exclusionary rhetoric and politics of U.S. republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and the nature of poetry and politics which seem to lie on opposite ends of human nature
