Fiscal sociology, originated from the Austrian and Italian Schools, studies the fundamental relationship between fiscal phenomena, public action and society. It aims to reconstruct a global social science by theorizing empirical data within the framework of the general problematics of society. Starting from the founders, taxation and the other issues of public finances, the article illustrates this sociological approach and emphasizes the importance of refunding the democratic socio-financial contract in this period of crisis.

La sociologie des finances publiques, issue des écoles autrichienne et italienne, étudie la relation fondamentale entre les phénomenes financiers, l' action publique et la société. Elle vise a reconstruire une science sociale globale en théorisant les données empiriques dans le cadre des problématiques générales de la société. A partir des fondateurs, de la fiscalité et des autres enjeux des finances publiques, l' article illustre cette approche sociologique et souligne l'importance de refonder le contrat socio-financier démocratique en cette période de crise.
