    • The first program to involve librarians in Health was the Literature Attached to Charts (LATCH) that began in 1967 at the Washington Hospital Center (USA). With years’ elapsing, the health librarian has expanded his tasks and has created different job profiles. Today we must distinguish between Clincial Librarian and Informationist. In Italy there is a profile of the librarian called “Documentalista”, even if not yet widely recognized. In this article we retrace the history of the librarian in health, from his origins until today.
