In this article the authors describe the experience of “work and training” internships at the Prints and Drawings Library of the Uffizi Gallery. As an alternative to attending normal classroom lessons, small groups of students from Florentine secondary schools choose to spend a week working in this specialized art library. Their assigned library tasks alternate with guided visits to the Uffizi Gallery, introducing them to the major works of art held therein.
