Los comentarios fueron el principal medio de producción filosófica desde fines del helenismo hasta la Antigüedad tardía. La riqueza y profundidad de esta producción fue decisiva no solo por su valor histórico sino también por su influencia en el pensamiento posterior. Nuestro propósito es explorar los aspectos más significativos de esta evolución reconociendo no solo su importancia como fuentes de la obra de Platón y fundamentalmente de Aristóteles -figura central en el desarrollo de este género- sino como obras con un valor filosófico propio. Mediante un esquemático recorrido por su historia: desde su génesis en el seno del aristotelismo hasta su apropiación por la hermenéutica cristiana, identificaremos los intereses filosóficos que determinaron la apropiación de los textos en cada etapa.

Commentaries were the most important way of philosophical production from the end of Hellenism up to late Antiquity. The richness and depth of this production was decisive not only for its historical value but also for its influence in later thought. Our intention is to explore the most significant aspects of this evolution recognizing its importance not only as sources of Plato's work and fundamentally of Aristotle -the central figure in the development of this gender- but also as works with their own philosophical value. Through a schematic overview of its history: from its origins within aristotelianism to the appropriation by Christian hermeneutics, we will identify the philosophical interests that determined the appropriation of the texts in every phase.
