  La sociedad de Tucumán se manifestó interesada por la cultura clásica desde principios de siglo XX. Así lo testimonian las crónicas de la época sobre la vida cultural de principios de siglo. Los gobernantes supieron interpretar estos intereses con la concreción de la presencia de escritores, poetas y artistas que conservaron la tradición grecolatina. En este artículo mostramos la presencia de los estudios clásicos en la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán en el ámbito de la filosofía, las letras y el arte desde su nacimiento hasta el presente. Nos sentimos herederos de esa tradición y por ende, comprometidos con la tarea de mantenerla viva.

  Since the beginning of the 20th century, classical culture became the focus of attention of the cultural life in the province of Tucuman, a fact well documented in the chronicles of the time. Writers, poets and artists of the Greco-Latin tradition were hosted by many governors who were aware of their valuable contribution to the field and their relevance to the province. This article refers to the impact classical studies have had in the fields of philosophy, literature and art at the National University of Tucumán to date as attempt to acknowledge the significance of this inherited classical tradition.
