Resumen de El Valle de Samuño (Langreo, Asturias): un espacio minero convertido en ecomuseo

Tras la época de crisis derivada de fin del ciclo económico basado en el carbón, el valle de Samuño (Langreo, Asturias) se ha convertido en un museo del territorio bajo la ejecución de un ambicioso proyecto cuya finalidad ha sido poner en valor el patrimonio natural y el industrial heredado, disperso por todo el valle, y cuyas principales líneas de actuación han sido la rehabilitación del pozo San Luis como espacio museístico y la recuperación de un ferrocarril minero de dos kilómetros de longitud, con la mitad de su recorrido a través de una galería minera real.
El proyecto, financiado por los fondos europeos de ayudas al carbón, desarrollado por iniciativa del consistorio langreano y ejecutado por Sadim, Tragsa y Zeppelin Consultoría Turística S.L., ha costado en torno a seis millones y medio de euros

After the economic crisis of the coal based economy, the valley of Samuño (Langreo, Asturias) has been transformed into a mining ecomuseum as part of an ambitious programme which aims to protect and advocate the value of industrial heritage throughout the whole valley. The main priorities of the project at the moment are the rehabilitation of the San Luis well as a museum and the recovery of a two kilometres mining railroad, half of which is proposed to be a real life mining experience through a real mine. The project is funded by the E.U. to aid coal related initiatives developed and implemented by the council of Langreo, Sadim, Tragsa and Zeppelin Consultoría Turística S.L. In total, the project has cost around six and a half million euros to date
