This issue of the Financial Analysts Journal includes four articles devoted to retirement. As pointed out by Siegel (2015), the Journal has published a wide variety of articles on this topic over its 70-year history. In many countries around the world, issues associated with the challenges of achieving retirement security are of great interest to both investors and investment practitioners. As a forum for presenting practitioner-oriented research and for sharing the perspectives of leading practitioners, academics, and regulators, the Financial Analysts Journal is well positioned not only to advance the knowledge and understanding of the challenges of achieving retirement security but also to offer solutions to these challenges and thus play a role in addressing the retirement crisis.
