Resumen de Una reflexión sobre la universidad: A propósito de Ortega y Sacristán

En este trabajo se parte del análisis de las tres funciones de la universidad realizado por dos grandes filósofos españoles del siglo XX: José Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955) y Manuel Sacristán Luzón (1925-1985). El constructo teórico del primero se sitúa en la tradición del liberalismo romántico y, el del segundo, en la tradición socialista. Se señalan las coincidencias y diferencias entre ambos y, además, se contrastan sus propuestas con los cambios introducidos en la Enseñanza Superior en España con el plan Bolonia. El balance es claramente negativo en la medida que las innovaciones realizadas no sólo no han mejorado la universidad, sino que han aumentado sus defectos tradicionales, como la estamentalización, el corporativismo y la endogamia.

This work begins with the analysis of the three functions of the university as done by two great spanish philosophers from the XXth century: José Ortega y Gasset (1930) and Manuel Sacristán Luzón (1970). The theoretical construct of the first is located in the romantic liberalism tradition and, the one of the second in the socialist tradition. Coincidences and differences between both are pointed out, as well as the contrast between their proposals and the changes introduced in Spain's Higher Education with the Bologna plan. The assessment is clearly negative to the extent that the innovations have not only failed in improving the university, but have increased its traditional defects, such as class stratification, corporatism, and endogamy.
