Resumen de Ein literarischer 'Versuch' im Experimentierfeld Zeitschrift: Medieneffekte der "Deutschen Rundschau" auf Gottfried Kellers "Sinngedicht"

The fact that the first edition of Keller's “Sinngedicht” ('The epigram') appeared in the “Deutsche Rundschau” is well established among researchers. However, this has so far had hardly any consequences for the interpretation of the work. In this article the journal is for the first time viewed from the perspective of media history as an experimental field, the media effects of which shape the modern aesthetics of the “Sinngedicht” in a characteristic constellation of science and literature, discursive and thematic universality, collage technique, variational principle and seriality.

Dass der Erstdruck von Kellers „Sinngedicht“ in der „Deutschen Rundschau“ erfolgt, ist zum Gemeinplatz der Forschung geworden – interpretatorische Konsequenzen haben sich jedoch daraus bislang kaum ergeben. Hier wird aus mediengeschichtlicher Perspektive erstmals die Zeitschrift als Experimentierfeld begriffen, dessen Medieneffekte die innovative Ästhetik des „Sinngedichts“ in der charakteristischen Konstellation von Naturwissenschaft und Literatur, diskursiver und thematischer Universalität, Collagetechnik, Variationsprinzip und Serialität konstitutiv mitprägen.
