  • The experimental section of slab track laid on the Madrid-Barcelona main line, includes a crossover at the Calatorao station entrance.

    In this article, we describe the components used in the construction of the turnouts, giving in detail the most important technical aspects.

    Each turnout consists of one set of switches with flexible switch rails 14900 mm long. and one cast manganese crossing tg. a=0,09.

    The rails are 54 kg/m and the assembly with Pandrol elastic fastenings has been designed such a way that can be incorporated in the continuous welded rail (CWR).
